It’s amazing to be part of a team – part of something that’s bigger than yourself.

You know, Jesus created a team to minister with Him – the disciples. He taught them how to live an abundant life. He modeled for them true humility and servant leadership. And He loved them as His family.

It’s comforting to know that I can leave Sunday mornings in the very capable hands of the team. I’m truly thankful to Justin Powell for stepping up and being part of the team. He delivered an excellent message last week. It was right in line with the Choose Love marriage series. I really appreciated one of his ending points – God wants to use you and your partner to exalt His glorious name in this world.

Even marriage takes on a team approach. You and your spouse should be partners in ministry, serving together and supporting each other. You may have varied skills and talents, but you can still serve towards a common goal, that is to expand His kingdom. And at GM, we always have a place for you to plug in and get connected.

Some of you may know that I was in Tulsa this week with my dad. He had open heart surgery. He is recovering well, and I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your prayers. You sent texts, Facebook updates and emails asking how my dad is doing. I’m extremely blessed to have a church family that cares so much about my family. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your team.
